My name is Simmo, and I’m an 18-year-old self-taught artist based in the Netherlands.

I started making art when I was around eight years old, mostly pencil sketches. When I was fourteen, I began taking art more seriously. What started as a hobby slowly became a safe, calming world where I could slow down and create freely.

Last year, I experienced a long art block. It taught me something important: not to be afraid of beginning, not to fear making “bad” art, and to enjoy the process instead of chasing perfection. That shift changed everything for me.

During that time, I gave gouache a second chance and it became my favorite medium. I also discovered polymer clay, originally planning to make floral jewelry. But as I kept creating, my ideas evolved into something softer, more meaningful, and more intentional.

My art style is inspired by flowers, hope, and gentle growth. It is soft, dreamy, and calm. In a world of mass production and fast trends, I want to create art that feels slow, made from the soul, with care and intention.

Moving to the Netherlands taught me to keep hoping, to keep dreaming, and to appreciate the simple things in life. As a child, I was always drawn to special, unique pieces and that love still lives in my work today.
